27-Aug-2008In 2009 The Abyssinian Cat Association’s Annual Championship Show is moving to a new venue at The Civic Centre, Toft Road, Knutsford, Cheshire. We understand this to be the first cat show held at this venue. The centre is a multi-purpose function complex including, if anyone is interested, a 172-seat studio cinema/ lecture theatre showing the latest films. Car parking is available on site but ample local parking also exists nearby. Disabled facilities include ramps, wheelchair access and toilets.
The Show is open to members of the public from 12 noon. If you are interested in seeing one of the finest displays of Abyssinian cats in the country, including Usual, Sorrel, Blue, Fawn, Lilac, Chocolate and Silver together with some of the rare “Unusual” colours, please come along to Knutsford Civic Centre. We will be delighted to see you.
Even if you don’t own an Abyssinian cat but you think your pet has the makings of a star why not enter our Household Pet Classes and join in the fun. Entry details will appear on our website early in 2009.

3-Aug-2008The recent application for promotion of the Chocolate and Lilac Abyssinians has been approved by Executive Committee of GCCF and will go to the full meeting of GCCF Council at the October meeting.
Hopefully at light at the end of a long tunnel for those dedicated breeders who have worked so hard over the years for this moment.
Committee Update

29-Jul-2008The ACA Committee met at the home of Chairman, Gill Wilson on Sunday 27th July on what must have been the hottest day of the year so far. A plentiful supply of cold “alcohol free” beer was available to keep people cool and of course sober. One item on the Agenda was the co-option of Sally Plummer. Sally of course is well known, under her prefix Catsmagic, for her interest and devotion in breeding “Unusual Abyssinians”. The committee unanimously agreed that Sally would be a great asset to the Club and we are sure you will all join us in welcoming her. Sadly we must also announce the resignation of David Brown. David has numerous interests and hobbies and it has become increasingly difficult for him to commit the time he feels is necessary to remain an active member of the committee. He has, therefore, reluctantly taken the decision to stand down. The committee wish him well and hope they will continue to meet him as a valued member of the Club.
